Lieutenant General Scott Kindsvater, (U.S. Air Force Ret.)

Scott Kindsvater is a Senior Advisor to The Chertoff Group. General Kindsvater is a retired Air Force Lieutenant General who served honorably in the U.S. military for over 30 years. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, General Kindsvater has served in executive leadership roles over the past seventeen years, focusing on issues ranging from NATO military planning, nuclear deterrence, and defense innovation.

General Kindsvater concurrently works as the President of Kindsvater and Associates, LLC where he serves as a strategic advisor, Corporate Advisory Board member, and motivational speaker. Most recently, General Kindsvater served as the Deputy Chair of the NATO Military Committee, where he was tasked with managing the 30-nation alliances Logistics and Interoperability Committees as well as being the lead negotiator for the Secretary General on Greece and Turkey Eastern Mediterranean military confrontation.

Previously, he served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Intelligence at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe where he led the NATO Nuclear Enterprise. General Kindsvater also served as the Commander of the 9th Expeditionary Task Force-Levant, where he led interservice coalition partners and intelligence plans in the military’s historic campaign to defeat ISIL. Preceding this position, General Kindsvater served as the Assistant Deputy Commander of U.S. Air Forces Central Command where he led the development of contingency plans and the execution of air operations for the 20-nation U.S. Central Command area. General Kindsvater also served in the Pentagon as the Executive Assistant to the Director of the Joint Staff where he managed the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction portfolio for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

General Kindsvater has commanded forces in Pakistan, Iraq, and Syria, and has served as the Commandant for the U.S. Air Force Weapons School. He holds a degree from the United States Air Force Academy, and masters degrees from the Army States Army War College and Touro University International.
